Don’t Give Up!!

Spread the love

Have you ever just sat there and thought, “boy, will I ever succeed at anything?”

Raising my hand high over here! I started on this journey of opening my business and it just seems like life keeps getting in the way of me having time to pursue it. I keep trying to make videos….insert noise and interruption….I want to make a blog post….insert household chores and all things family….I want to sit and draw on my tablet to create templates for crafts and t-shirts….insert everyone needing my attention. You get the picture. I just feel like every time I turn around something is standing in my way of making this venture a success.

I cried to the Lord this morning and told Him that it always feels like I’m standing at a window/glass looking in and seeing what could be, but not being able to obtain it. Lets be honest, sometimes it even feels like Heaven is just a dream. I know that my dear Lord saved me, I know what He promised me, and I know that He says He will always be there for me, but then my flesh takes over and tries to defeat me. So, I took it to Him in prayer and the very next devotion I was led to was entitled “Don’t Give Up!”….wow, God is good. The verse that goes along with the devotion is Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

So often it is easier to just give up on something than to stick it out and keep trying if things aren’t going as we thought they should. Well, that is not the attitude to have! According to this devotional I was reading, Calvin Coolidge (one of our late Presidents) said that “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; genius will not; education will not. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” Boy, that is a mouth full isn’t it?! We can have great talent in many areas and be well educated, but if you don’t use what you got and consistently pursue your goals, then they won’t be achieved.

Guess I won’t give up then. I’ll find the right time to accomplish all the things needed to be successful in this new endeavor of mine. I’ll carve out time to get the videos done and demand quiet. I’ll pick the right time to sit and write my blog post and schedule them to post at certain times (so ya’ll aren’t bombarded with so many at one time). I’ll even get all my wifely and motherly chores accomplished so that the God ordained jobs aren’t neglected. I want to be a success, but only if my good Lord and Savior can get the glory. I want to stay in His will and reach the success He wants for me. So stay tuned for more episodes of this journey and we’ll see where my good Lord takes me.

Remember, if you are facing the same thoughts as me and want to just throw in the towel. Don’t give up!! Keep pushing forward and work hard to accomplish your goals. With God on your side, you can accomplish great and mighty things.
